Our church is proud to work with Foster the City. Every day, children in our county are removed from their families due to accusations of abuse or neglect. In an instant, these children are taken away from everything familiar and placed into foster care. The sad reality is many of these children have no family willing to take them in.

Yet God loves every one of these precious children made in His image. We believe that our church is called to love and care for children experiencing the painful realities of foster care and we would love for you to get involved.

Our Foster the City ministry is devoted to finding homes for children experiencing foster care and there is a role for everyone! Foster the City helps current and prospective foster families navigate the complexities of foster care. We also train and empower support friends who provide meals, childcare, and support to the amazing foster families at our church.
If you would like to learn more about how you can make a lasting impact in foster care, RSVP for an interest meeting at fosterthecity.org/rsvp.

You can also fill out this next step card (fosterthecity.org/nextsteps) to get connected to the Advocate who leads this ministry at our church.

May is Foster Care Awareness Month

Somewhere tonight, a child will fall asleep in a place that doesn’t yet feel like home -
a borrowed bed, a borrowed room and a new chapter is being written in an unfamiliar place.

But what if “borrowed” could become “belonging”?

For the last decade, we’ve watched this transformation time and again…
when a door opens,
when a table makes room,
when a family becomes vulnerable for the sake of the vulnerable,
and the church keeps showing up.

Not everyone is called to foster,
but everyone is called to care.

This month, we honor the children and the families that serve them, and we ask:
What part will you play in the unfolding story of A Church for Every Child?

This Foster Care Awareness Month, will you lean in rather than look away?
Will you choose compassion over convenience?
Will you offer presence rather than passing by?
This month, will you move from awareness to action?
